making a ticking wall clock?

Am an average d.i.y. man. How difficult would it be to make a wall clock from scratch ? It must have a pleasant tick ( nice lazy sound ),preferably with a pendulum,but i cannot afford the space needed for weights.Is there anywhere i can buy parts and instructions ???
