Neff oven door not closing properly?

My electric fan assisted neff oven door does not close properly and as a result the oven thermostat keeps on more than it should due to the heat loss

I solved my "Neff Oven door not closing problem" using the washers under the hinge solution, You have to take the door apart and place a couple of small washers to give a total thickness of about 2 mm under the top fixing point. A demonstration of removing the door and taking it apart can be found on U Tube.

I replaced the hinges on my Naff 1461 oven, and for a few weeks it was like a new oven, but sadly it didn't last for long.I think I'm going to try the magnet solution.

I was having the same problem with my frigidaire oven door. I was thinking that it was the seal getting in the way at first, but then I realized that the hinges needed to be repositioned. I wasn't in the mood for that kind of reengineering, so I came up with a better solution. Magnets. Not those shitty fridge magnets either. Neodymium magnets. Place them on the upper part of the inside of the door, near the door lock (outside of the seal). You'll only need about three or four depending on the size. (get the fatest ones you can). If you know a computer geek you might be able to get a few free magnets from an old hard drive. I used five of these and I can just about pull the oven out of it's place while trying to open the door. The onhly problem is that heat destroys magnets and I can't say how long these will last because I just figured this out tonight.

our neff oven door never has shut properly should have complained when it was bought but wasnt really noticed I think it is a design fault or the cams the rollers shut on wear out seems unlikely though

Interesting - my Neff oven door won't close properly either, wasn't a problem until I replaced the seal - the seals aren't very goood either and need replacing every year or two, but now having replaced the seal the door won't close properly, Neff say it's the hinges and I have to call out an Engineer (£60 I think), no idea then how much the hinge replacement will cost if that's what it is. All this on what is perceived to be a quality product that is four - five years old, not very impressive and Neff don't really give a sh*t. I'm an Architect and I'll be making sure none of my Clients buy Neff again.....

They say you should replace the hinges, but you can also add some spacers or washers between the hinge and the door to amke it close further

The only way I've found is to fit a bracket to the outside of the oven. It's not pretty, but it works. The only other way may be to fit new spring hinges to it pulls itself closed better or fit a softer seal material around the opening so that it squashes together easier and seals properly.
