i can't get the needle to pull up the bobbin thread?

i need to know how to get the bobbin case to spin so that the needle can pull the thread up from the bobbin case. the case itself is not spinning. this is a singer 6110 sewing machine

Hello Virginia,
If the raceway is not moving the chances are that the bottom gear under the raceway has broken teeth, take the bottom off to see, if it is just a case of the machine not picking up the thread it may need retiming, you can e-mail me for timing instructions.
