Mend Tecumseh Prism 37 Replace Rope Handle

Replace rope from recoil to starter handle?

Tecumseh motor on lawn mower Prism 37. The rope from the coil to the starter handle has snaped and I need to fix it. I have removed the screws that hold the engine cover but it will not come off. It is being held by a lip under the cover any ideas or more explanation?

Remove tank.
Remove screws that secure exhaust guard (if fitted)
Remove screw securing oil dipstick tube
Remove carb air filter at carb flange
Remove 4 screws securing cowling.
Manoever cowling off engine.

Takes longer to type this than do the job!
