Mend Singer 7422 Wind Stops

Bobbin woes with Singer 7422?

I have just purchased a Singer 7422 and when I try to wind the bobbin it rotates twice, stops, all the stitch lights blink and it starts beeping. I then have to turn off my machine and restart it. I have followed the instructions as far as threading it correctly and the needle also won't disengage. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the machine is brand new the topshaft is probably dry of oil that is one reason why you cannot get the needle to stop when you have disengage the stop motion, if the machine is under warranty I would get it back to the supplier before attempting any adjustments yourself.
