2003 Civic security alarm does not retrun to normal?

The battery on my 2003 Civic SE Exec was drained when the lights were left on. It is now recharged, but the alarm system now activates a few seconds after the doors are locked, whether they are locked remotely or directly by the key. This happens every time. I am now having to leave the car unlocked.

Is there a way of resetting the system to operate properly?
