How can I fix my Toyota RS2000 sewing machine?

After breaking a needle (possibly because tried to sew too thick material) I replaced needle, but now top thread keeps breaking. Have tried changing needle, thread and bobbin but still keeps happening. Any ideas?

Hello Mave,
Make sure you have put the needle in the correct way round, that is the most common fault, if you have broken a needle and it broke on the needle plate look for any damage.
