Thank you b for your suggestion. It actually took a piece of wood and a knock with a hammer to get it off! (not too hard a knock of course). We replaced it.....however it did not solve the problem as the radiators still come on very very hot even when it is set to water only - I am presuming we have a bigger problem than we thought. Any ideas?
