How can I fix my Toyota model 2702 sewing machine?

The sewing machine was working very well until it started pushing the material the wrong way i.e. in reverse. The impression I get is that the motor is turning the wrong way. The hand wheel turns anti-clockwise. If it is turned clockwise manually the material is taken in as it should. Note moving the reversing levers has no effect.

Hello Andre,
If the balance wheel is turning the wrong way then you have a problem, I have never heard of that happenning is 30 years, you need a sewing machine shop to check it out.
