How can I keep Singer 9217 from making thread nests?
My Singer 9217 will start to sew, then just makes huge nests of thread on back of fabric. How can I fix this? The machine belonged to my sister who recently passed away. I don't want to incur a huge repair bill, but would like to keep the machine and use it because it was hers.
Hello Norma,
Sounds like tension or threading problems, make sure you thread the machine with the presser foot up, make sure the needle is in the correct way round, top tension about 4 or 5,
make sure the bobbin turns anti clockwise in the bobbin case, do not use inferior thread on Singer.
