spring E, point 2?

I have a Singer Touchtronic 2010 machine.
When I open the slide plate, and I insert a bobbin, the little metal piece (I can describe by saying it is the piece that you draw the thread under, and then past point 2) is completely free, can move, or I can lift out. Was there ever a little screw to hold it in place?

Hello Judy,
Do you mean the black spring clip that holds the bobbin case in place, if you do then you need to undo the big screw and take the spring clip off, bend it slightly and then put it back.
