smoking foot control pedal?

Hi, my wife has a singer starlet s/machine and the
foot pedal started to smoke, ive read the response on how to remove a capacitor to overcome this problem.
But doe's anyone know which one as this foot pedal has two many thanks for your help.

Hello Brian,
There should only be one capacitor in the foot control, the foot control should be the clam type that undoes by one screw in the centre under the rubber, if you have more than one for some reason then take them all out because you do not need them these days.
