I have a tecumseh 3.5 hp engine on a farm sprayer and it dies shortly after it starts. I am able to keep it running if I press the prime button as it begins to die and also by putting my hand over the air intake breifly as it begins to die out. Your advice will be greatly appreciated.
Take the carb apart and clean out the jets. NOTE that on some models, the bowl nut incorporates a jet. It's not easy to see, but it must be clear for the engine to run properly.
