How can I fix Matsui TV-20T20?

I left my TV and freview box in standby mode and came back to find that the TV remote had fallen in a water glass and won't work how can I get the TV out of standby?

push either up/down program buttons.Tv should boot up off standby.

On the front of the TV there is the on/off button and the control for volume up/down and channel up/down. I have tried the on off and it will turn off ie light goes out , then I push it again and it comes back on to standby red.
I have tried unplugging and replugging but still get back to the red standby button and a blank screen.
