Mend Singer 239 Pedal Hello Help

How do i fix my sewing machine foot pedal?

Hello, I do hope somebody can help me? I have a Singer 239 Sewing Machine it is a little bit old, however for it to sew, I have to hold push in the wire on the foot pedal at a certain position for it to sew, is this a diy problem I can do myself?
All advice is greatly appreciated.

disconnect from mains and open the cover. you may fond that one of the wires is loose in the connector. If you are not a diy person, i am sure one of your family members or friends can do that for you, hope all goes well
