Mend Honeywell 5117391 Just Room Thermost

I have just changed the batteries of my Wireless Programmable Room Thermost?

I have just changed the batteries of my Wireless Programmable Room Thermostat (Kit No 5117391) and now find that my boiler (Combi 30 HE) is not responding. I have tried to recommission as per the instruction manual, but no luck. The receiver LED flashing indicates batteries have run out. Any ideas?
