Do a good cleanup of old, left over, temporary files.
CCleaner is a realy good utility for that task. Get it from www.piriform.com.

Uninstall older applications that you no longer use or need.
Uninstall ANY application that are NOT supposed to be there: Anything not directly related to something that you willfully installed and did not come preloaded when you bough the computer.

Download and install a fresh copy of the Flash player directly from www.adobe.com or www.flash.com
You may want to uninstall the installed copy of flash: It may have become corrupted. That step is NOT required, but you may feel safer doing it.

You may want to perform a full virus scan. Get and install any reputable anti-virus.

Take a look at the addon and extentions of your browser. It's possible that one, or more, may be badly interacting with Flash. Try turning them OFF and see if the problem goes away.
If the problem goes away with addons and extentions disabled, re-enable them one by one untill you find the offending one. Uninstall that one, or get the latest version if possible.

Try a different browser and a new installation of Shockwave
Google Chrome or Firefox perhaps

Download and run a free copy of Malwarebytes

If it still crashes try to use Task Manager to see which process is using all the CPU time - right click the bar at the bottom.

When you look for a shockwave download site take great care - there are many offerings of magic repair software - all of them appear to be suspicious and more than they claim to be.

Go to adobe.com
Then downloads at the bottom of the page
Then Adobe shockwave player

Make sure you see the Adobe Logo at the top of the page.

You might also investigate the rubbish that is set to run at start-up time - and stop it - stuff you have no idea about gets itself an entry in the list and most of it is useless spyware it may be something in there that's causing issues for you.

If you do throw the machine through the window take care who may be outside else you will be liable for any injury.
