I suggest that you take it back to Dixons/Currys and get them to sort it out.  Which have mounted a campaign over recent years, the net of which is that TVs should last for at least five years no matter what the warranty says.  A TV that doesn't is condsidered "Not to be of merchantable quality" and so should be fixed for free.  BTW.  Dixons/Currys can't pass you to the manufacturer for tewo reasons:  1) You bought it from them.  2) Matsui is a Dixons/Currys own brand.  Give it a try and stand your ground.
