Spares -Vulcan Continental Central Heating Boiler?

I require spares for the Vulcan Continental 45 60 B F Central Heating Boiler particularly the expansion box, flanges or gaskets will soon be required, can anyone help a very worried pensioner

Boiler hasn't been on for about 18 months. I now cannot light the pilot light manually. There is 240v at the terminals on the gas valve. The volts disappear when I switch the boiler temperature setting to off. The igniter hasn't worked for some long time, therefore I have lit the pilot light with the temperature control set to 180 degrees, manually whenever the gas supply has been off. This time I have had no success. Any ideas?

we are making headway now the combustion box is the bit at the bottom where the burner is you are talking about the heat exchanger yours if my memory serves me correctly is a sectional boiler however there are more or less three ways to connect sectional boilers and i don't know which one applies to you i suggest you give ideal a ring 01482 498663 and get as much info as you can and we can go from there NB if they still have them ask for part numbers

Brian, thanks for your reply, the problem is that the combustion Box requires attention as it is leaking a little water round the seams therefore I need a gasket before it gets too bad, hope this clarifies the situation. Mr. Whitfield

if you could be more specific re what is wrong and what parts you need i will try to help despite the other comments the boiler is so basic and well built that if you are adamant you want it repaired it may be possible to repair it but as i said on your first question and speaking with 46yrs experience any attempt to remove the boiler to fit the parts you want are foolhardy if just one bolt snaps and you are unable to extract the stub it's game over (as i know to my cost)

Dear Mr Whitfield
This boiler has been obsolete for about 10 years.
I'm afraid it's time to bite the bullet and get a replacement. If you can't afford one then talk to Warm Front please use this link http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/MoneyTaxAndBenefits/BenefitsTaxCreditsAndOtherSupport/DG_191171
Good luck.
